149th Shri Baba Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan to take place from December 27-29 in Punjab

In Punjab, the 149th Shri Baba Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan will take place from December 27 to 29 at the premises of Shri Devi Talab Mandir in Jalandhar.

This year, this iconic and oldest festival of Hindustani Classical music in the world will be dedicated to the late Ustad Zakir Hussain. Expressing deep sorrow over the passing of Ustad Zakir Hussain, President of the Mahasabha, Smt. Purnima Beri said he was an integral part of the Harivallabh family. The festival, having a distinguished line-up of performing artists, will begin with a tabla recital in the honour of Ustad Zakir Hussain.

The three-day Sangeet Sammelan will be preceded by the ‘Harivallabh Sangeet Pratiyogita,’ a music competition to be held from December 23 to 26.
