Police Crackdown On Bovine Smuggling In Kulgam, Arrests Smuggler

In a major crackdown against bovine smuggling, police in Kulgam successfully foiled a bovine smuggling attempt in the jurisdiction of PS Qazigund by arresting a bovine smuggler and rescued several bovine animals.
According to the Associated News Bureau, a police party of Police Post Navayuga Tunnel at a checkpoint established at NHW Navayuga Tunnel intercepted one vehicle bearing registration number JK19A-7806.
During checking, 39 Bovines were recovered from the said vehicle and the bovine smuggler was arrested on the spot. He has been identified as Mohd Yousuf Itoo son of Khazar Mohd Itoo resident of Nowgam Banihal. Besides, vehicles used in commission of crime have also been seized.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Qazigund and further investigation has been initiated. (ANB
