Govt bans private tuitions by public school teachers
The School Education Department has issued a circular strictly prohibiting government school teaching staff, including lecturers, masters, and teachers, from conducting private tuitions or working with private institutions and coaching centers.
According to the circular, all Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) and Heads of Institutions (HOIs) must certify that no teaching personnel under their jurisdiction are engaged in unauthorized private coaching. Any violation will be treated as a breach of the Jammu & Kashmir Employees Service Conduct Rules, 1971, and will invite strict disciplinary action.
The circular also mandates zonal-level monitoring committees, previously established, to rigorously enforce the guidelines and report any violations without delay.
Authorities have warned that non-compliance will lead to severe punitive measures under the applicable rules. [KNT]
