TRAGIC: 6 Dead, 4 Injured In Kathua Fire Incident CM Omar Expresses Grief, Assures Best Possible Treatment For Injured

 In a tragic and unfortunate incident, six persons, that include two minors have lost their lives while four others received injuries, but are now stable, in an overnight blaze at a residential house in Shiva Nagar, Kathua. 

According to the Associated News Bureau, the incident was caused by a lamp in a rented room, as per the reports and occurred around midnight.

The fire broke out in ward number 16 and within minutes led to severe suffocation because of the smoke. 

The victims were rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Kathua, but were declared brought dead.

The deceased have been identified as Barkha Raina (25), Takash Raina (3), Advik Raina (4), Avatar Krishan (81), Ganga Bhagat (17) and Dinesh Bhagat (15).

Four persons who suffered injuries are Neat Devi, Swarna, Arun Kumar, and Kewal Krishan who are under treatment at the hospital.
According to the Principal GMC Kathua, Dr. Surinder Atri, said the deceased persons are members of a family associated with a recently retired Assistant Matron of GMC. 

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss in a devastating fire incident.

In his condolence message, the Chief Minister described the incident as deeply painful, particularly as it claimed the lives of six people and injured another four.

“It is heartbreaking to learn about this tragedy where six precious lives were lost. I pray for eternal peace to the departed souls and for the swift recovery of those injured in this unfortunate incident,” he said.

The Chief Minister extended his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families, praying for strength and forbearance to help them endure this difficult time.

The Chief Minister assured that the best possible medical care is being provided to the injured.

“I have directed the concerned authorities to ensure that the injured receive the best possible treatment for a smooth recovery,” he said. (ANB)
