Conman Linked to 14 FIRs in J&K Arrested in Delhi
KNT: The Crime Branch wing of Delhi police has arrested a notorious conman from Kashmir against whom 14 FIRs stand registered in different police stations.
Police sources told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that a team from Jammu Kashmir Police have rushed to Delhi to take custody of the accused Bilal Ahmed Lone, a resident of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Bilal Ahmad Lone, 33, known for his involvement in multiple cheating cases, was apprehended after evading authorities for months.
Lone was a fugitive wanted for defrauding individuals by promising bank loans for vehicle purchases, primarily targeting paramilitary personnel stationed in Jammu and nearby areas. “He either secured loans in the names of paramilitary officers or sold vehicles obtained through fraudulent loans by forging bank-issued No Objection Certificates.”
A detention order under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act was issued against Lone by the District Magistrate on December 13 and subsequently approved by the J&K Government’s Home Department on December 17. [KNT]
