Amitava Chatterjee To Replace Baldev Prakash As New MD & CEO of J&K Bank

 The Board of Directors of Jammu and Kashmir Bank has officially confirmed the appointment of Amitava Chatterjee as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO) of the bank.

This decision comes following the Jammu and Kashmir Government’s nomination of Mr. Chatterjee as the Government Nominee Director on the bank’s Board, as outlined in order No.414-F of 2024 dated December 25, 2024. His term will commence on December 30, 2024, and he will serve for three years.

According to the Associated News Bureau, Chatterjee will succeed Baldev Prakash, whose tenure concludes on December 29, 2024.

With over three decades of experience in banking, Mr. Chatterjee has had a distinguished career, holding significant roles within the State Bank of India and its subsidiary, SBICAPs. His expertise spans business development, risk management, compliance, and operations across diverse geographic locations.

A postgraduate in Business Administration from ICFAI University, Hyderabad, and a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB), Chatterjee is celebrated for his strategic vision and client-centric approach.

In addition to his professional achievements, he is known for his passion for sports, particularly tennis, football, and cricket.

The bank has disclosed this appointment to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and the BSE, in line with regulatory requirements. Details have been made available on the official websites of SEBI and BSE.
