Aga Syed Ruhullah Prioritizes Reservation Issue Over Political Ambitions

Senior National Conference leader and Member of Parliament Aga Syed Ruhullah Thursday said that the reservation issue holds paramount importance for him, surpassing any personal or political interests.
Speaking in Srinagar after assessing the progress of central projects and schemes, Ruhullah underlined the need to safeguard reservations as a critical tool for achieving social justice and empowering underprivileged communities. He said political ambitions must not overshadow the broader goal of ensuring equal opportunities for marginalized groups.
“For me, the reservation issue and the welfare of students are of utmost importance. This is a significant concern, and everyone must raise their voice to protect it,” Ruhullah stated.
Reacting to comments made by Apni Party president, Syed Altaf Bukhari, Ruhullah said that: “These are outdated tactics. The public is smart enough to discern between genuine efforts and mere dramatics. It’s unwise to underestimate their intelligence.”
Ruhullah further accused Bukhari of projecting his own political maneuvering onto others, stating, “He views others through the lens of his own experience, as someone who was himself strategically placed. This shows a lack of respect for the people’s discernment.”
Notably, Altaf Bhukhari had written on ‘X’ that the days of such political gimmickry are long gone and people are intelligent enough to distinguish between genuine efforts and theatrical actions. [KNT]
