Associated News Bureau
The University of Kashmir has announced the postponement of all examinations scheduled for December 28, 2024, citing adverse weather conditions that have disrupted normal life across the region.
According to the Associated News Bureau, in an official notification issued by the Assistant Controller (Conduct), the university stated that the decision was taken in view of the safety and convenience of students and staff amidst the ongoing snowfall and subzero temperatures.
“Fresh dates for the postponed papers shall be notified separately,” the notification read, urging students to stay updated through the university’s official website and communication channels.
The announcement comes as the valley continues to experience heavy snowfall, which has affected transportation and daily activities. Students welcomed the decision, emphasizing the challenges posed by slippery roads and limited mobility.
This is not the first time examinations have been affected by extreme weather in Kashmir, highlighting the region’s vulnerability to seasonal disruptions. The university has assured students that revised exam schedules will be announced soon to avoid academic delays. (ANB)
