Power Shortage Causes Hardship for Nagbal Residents in Ganderbal

KNT: Residents of Nagbal in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal have been grappling with a severe power shortage for the past 15 days, with the situation worsening over the last 24 hours as the area remains without electricity. This has left people struggling through the harsh winter conditions, raising concerns over the impact on daily life and health.
The prolonged power outage has disrupted heating systems, water supply, and other essential services, making life even more difficult for the local population. As temperatures continue to plummet, many families are forced to endure the cold, while others are finding it increasingly challenging to complete basic household tasks.
“This power cut is unbearable, especially in such cold weather. We are unable to heat our homes, and basic facilities are suffering,” said a local to the news agency Kashmir News Trust requsting with folded hands to convey the message to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Nagbal, located in the Ganderbal constituency of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, has long struggled with intermittent power issues, but the current shortage is proving to be one of the most severe in recent memory. [KNT]
