Drug addicts need shoulders, not thrones: Say, concerned citizens

KNT: The issue of drug addiction among students has emerged as a pressing concern, with frequent reports of young individuals being found either unconscious or, tragically, deceased due to substance abuse.

Experts and concerned citizens emphasize that a humane approach is essential to addressing this crisis.

Rather than resorting to criticism or condemnation, concerned citizens who talked to the news agency Kashmir News Trust stress the importance of guidance and support for those struggling with addiction.

“The youth caught in the grip of substance abuse often require rehabilitation and emotional care to recover and reintegrate into society,” said a concerned citizen.

“Elderly people, educators, and parents are urged to create awareness about the dangers of drug use while fostering an environment where affected students feel safe seeking help. Counseling services, support groups, and educational campaigns can play a pivotal role in mitigating this growing problem.” [KNT]
