Mysterious Deaths: SP Ops Rajouri To Head SIT To Investigate Causes Of Illness

Jammu and Kashmir Police has constituted a Special Investigation Team of 11-members to investigate the mysterious deaths in Rajouri district in the last one-and-a-half months.
According to the Associated News Bureau, Superintendent of Police (Operations), Wajahat Hussain will head the 11-member SIT which will have other members that include deputy superintendent of Police Kandi, station house officers of police station Kandi and women’s police station Rajouri, and from forensic medicine and toxicology, microbiology, pediatrics and pathology departments.
The team will utilise the expertise of professionals from the food safety, agriculture, and Jal Shakti departments, as well as the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) Jammu.
“The team will make all sincere efforts to work out the inquest proceedings to its logical conclusion at an earliest,” it said.
It may be recalled that 14 persons have lost their lives in over a month in Budhal area of Rajouri due to a mysterious illness including a 6-year old girl who is a latest victim (ANB)
