Sensex & Nifty Close Lower, Ending Three-Day Winning Streak

Benchmark domestic equity indices today logged losses, snapping their three-day winning streak. The 30-share index at the Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex, dropped 423 points, or 0.55 percent, to close at 76,619.

Similarly, the National Stock Exchange Nifty-50 fell 109 points, or 0.47 percent, to settle at 23,203. In the global crude market, Brent Crude was trading over 0.2 percent up at 81 dollars and 48 cents per barrel, and WTI Crude also added over 0.3 percent to trade at 78 dollars and 95 cents per barrel when reports last came in.
In the Indian bullion market, the 24-karat gold was trading down at 79,110 rupees for 10 grams, while the silver 999 fine is also trading down at 91,840 per kilogram when reports last came in.
