Srinagar Police Destroy 121 Kgs of Seized Narcotics in Anti-Drug Campaign

Srinagar, As part of the nationwide anti-drug campaign initiated by the Hon’ble Home Minister of India, the Drug Disposal Committee of District Srinagar has destroyed 121 kilograms of seized narcotic substances. These drugs were confiscated in connection with multiple FIRs registered across the district, reads a press release issued by District Police Srinagar shared with Associated News Bureau.
The destruction process was carried out at a designated incineration facility in Lassipora, Pulwama, following necessary orders from the competent court. Senior officers from various police wings oversaw the operation, which was conducted in the presence of representatives from the Legal Metrology Department and the Pollution Control Board to ensure proper compliance with regulations.
The destroyed narcotics included Heroin, Brown Sugar, Crystal Meth, Fukki, Charas, Codeine Phosphate, and other banned substances, it added.
This initiative reflects the Srinagar Police’s unwavering commitment to eradicating drug abuse and contributing to the broader national mission of achieving a drug-free society. (ANB)
