India to face Japan in quarterfinals today

In badminton, India will face Japan in the quarterfinals of the Asia Mixed Team Championships in China today. In the first match, India’s Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto will take on Hiroki Midorikawa and Natsu Saito in the mixed doubles event.

Meanwhile, India’s top women’s singles player, Malvika Bansod, will face Tomoka Miyazaki later.
In match three, star Indian shuttler HS Prannoy will lock horns with Kenta Nishimoto in the men’s singles category. In the fourth match, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand will face Arisa Igarashi and Ayako Sakuramoto in the women’s doubles.
And in the last match, ace Indian men’s doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will take on Takumi Nomura and Yuichu Shimogami.
Team India secured a place in the quarterfinals as the second-best team from Group D, despite a narrow 2-3 defeat against South Korea.
