Sensex-Nifty50 Open Lower Amid Weak Earnings & Foreign Selling

Domestic benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty50, opened lower today as weak earnings and persistent foreign selling pressured investor sentiment. The 30-share BSE Sensex shed 75 points to trade at 75,921, and the Nifty50 was trading 42 points down at 22,923 when reports last came in.

In line with the equity indices, the broader indices at the BSE were also reeling down. The small-cap index shed nearly 1.4 percent, and the mid-cap index was trading 0.8 percent down a short while ago.
