Shopian IED Neutralized; Another Suspicious Object Found in Tral

Joint forces in detected and neutralized an improvised explosive device (IED) in South Kashmir’s Shopian district. The explosive, hidden inside a pressure cooker, was discovered at Kashwa Chitragam in the Zainapora sub-division.
Acting swiftly, security personnel cordoned off the area and called in a bomb disposal squad, which safely dismantled the device. The operation was jointly carried out by the Army’s 1st Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Shopian police, and the 178 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
Shortly after the Shopian incident, another suspicious object resembling an IED was detected in the Pinglish Nagwadi area of Tral in Pulwama district. Security forces immediately secured the site, diverting traffic to ensure civilian safety while awaiting the arrival of the bomb disposal team.
Investigations are underway to determine the source of these explosives and any possible links between the two incidents. [KNT]
