Major Springs Drying Up In Kashmir, CM Omar Calls for Collective Action

Major springs are drying up in Jammu and Kashmir as the water crisis is deepening with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressing concern stating that the crisis is not a sudden but has been building up for years.  According to the Associated News Bureau, in an X Post, Omar underscored the need for a proactive approach to water management and conservation by the government. “All of us residents of J&K will have to change the way we take water for granted,” he said.

He announced that he would be reviewing the measures of the Jal Shakti (PHE) Department plans to implement to redress the crisis. 

Meanwhile, major swings in Kashmir like the famous Spring at Aripal village in Tral have dried up and so did many other such springs. (ANB)
