Fire Engulfs Srinagar’s Bhorikadal Locality, Destroy 05 Houses
Associated News Bureau
Jammu, The pre-dawn in Srinagar’s Malaratta Bhorikadal area was filled with cries for rescue as a fire incident occurred at the locality, damaging five houses, rendering families homeless in the winter.
An official from Fire and Emergency told Associated News Bureau that about five residential houses were damaged after a fire broke out in the locality.
He said the fire call was received at 4:18 AM, and when the Department arrived at the scene, they found two three residential houses engulfed in flames.
He said the fire spread rapidly, engulfing the structures before firefighting teams managed to bring it under control.
“The fire was later brought under control, and no loss of life or any injuries occurred,” he said.
Meanwhile, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Locals speaking with the Associated News Bureau expressed their frustration, saying that it is unfortunate that no officials from the district administration have visited the area.
The residents, whose homes were damaged in the fire, are mostly people living hand to mouth. Despite this, no one has come to offer assistance, not even the concerned MLA. (ANB)
