Tourism Revival Key to Economic Recovery in J&K: Civil Aviation Minister

KNT: Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu on Thursday urged citizens across India to support Jammu and Kashmir’s economic recovery by boosting tourism in the region, which he said remains safe and welcoming despite recent setbacks.

Speaking to the media during his visit to Srinagar, Naidu emphasized that the terror attack in Pahalgam not only caused tragic loss of life but also severely impacted the local economy. “Businesses here are struggling, and we must unite to help them bounce back,” he said.

The minister reiterated that reviving tourism is central to economic restoration in the Valley. “Kashmir is as beautiful as ever, and all flight operations have been resumed. We are encouraging tourists from across the country to come and explore its natural beauty,” Naidu stated.

He assured that the Civil Aviation Ministry is committed to supporting every possible effort to bring normalcy back to the region. “Restoring air connectivity is just the first step. We are determined to do everything we can to bring back tourists and help the people of Jammu and Kashmir regain economic momentum.”

Naidu also expressed optimism over early signs of improvement, saying that flight bookings to Kashmir were already showing encouraging numbers. “We are hopeful that in the coming weeks, the response from the public will be even more positive,” he added. [KNT]
