Body of Drowned Tral Resident Recovered from River Jhelum in Awantipora

Pulwama,  KNT: A joint rescue team of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Pulwama and Civil Defence Awantipora on Tuesday recovered the body of a man who had drowned in the River Jhelum near Padgampora in south Kashmir’s Awantipora area.

The deceased was identified as Tariq Ahmad Ganie, son of Abdul Rahman Ganie, a resident of Amirabad Tral. According to officials, Tariq had gone missing after reportedly slipping into the river, triggering an immediate search and rescue operation.

After hours of coordinated efforts, the SDRF and Civil Defence teams were able to retrieve the body from the river. The body was later handed over to the family after completing medico-legal formalities. [KNT]
