BRO Upgrades Baltal & Chandanwari Routes Ahead of Amarnath Yatra 2025
Over 1,700 Locals Empowered; LG Manoj Sinha Lauds Timely Execution
Srinagar, ANB, In a significant boost to the annual Amarnath Yatra, Project Beacon of the Border Roads Organisation (@BROindia) has completed vital upgradation work on the Baltal and Chandanwari tracks.
The ambitious project included widening over 45 km of route to 12 feet, clearing 47 km of accumulated snow, and constructing over 32 km of handrails, bridges, shelters, and safety walls—ensuring a safer and smoother pilgrimage experience for devotees.
According to news service, associated news bureau,ANB , In a unique convergence of infrastructure and livelihood, BRO empowered more than 1,700 local workers, seamlessly integrating development with employment generation in the region. Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha commended BRO for its engineering excellence, timely execution, and unwavering commitment to pilgrim safety, calling it a model of coordinated public service and infrastructure efficiency.
