Live Wire Falls into Water in Ichgam’s Houshonag Bagarpora, One Dead Another Injured
Budgam, KNT: Tragedy struck in the Houshonag Bagarpora area of Ichgam in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, when two youths were electrocuted while bathing in a spring.
The victims have been identified as Zeeshan Ahmed, son of Qayoom Ahmed, and Arfat Ahmed, son of Imtiyaz Ahmed, both residents of the same locality.
According to locals, the incident occurred after a live electric wire suddenly snapped and fell into the water, resulting in both youths receiving a severe electric shock.
They were immediately rushed to the District Hospital Budgam, where doctors declared Zeeshan Ahmed dead on arrival. The condition of Arfat Ahmed is reported to be critical, and he was later referred to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for advanced medical care.
The incident has sparked shock and anger in the area, with residents demanding a thorough investigation and accountability for the apparent negligence in power line maintenance. [KNT]
