Cyber Police trace and return 29 missing smartphones to owners

Budgam, KNT : The Cyber Police of Budgam have reported a major breakthrough in combating online financial fraud, successfully recovering ₹11,41,233 from cybercriminals and preventing an additional loss of ₹40,32,499 to targeted victims. The recoveries came in response to multiple complaints regarding fraudulent bank transactions.

In a parallel effort, Cyber Police Budgam traced and recovered 29 missing smartphones of different makes and models, worth lakhs of rupees, using the CEIR portal. The devices were promptly handed over to their rightful owners.

Officials said these achievements were made under the supervision of SSP Budgam Nikhil Borkar (IPS). The Cyber Police have been actively assisting citizens in resolving technological grievances, addressing online frauds reported through the NCRP portal, and conducting awareness drives to educate the public about emerging cyber threats.

Authorities have once again urged citizens not to share bank details, OTPs, or other sensitive information with unknown persons and to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or via the Cyber Crime helpline 1930.

The efforts of Cyber Police Budgam in protecting both finances and personal property have drawn appreciation from the public. [KNT]
