One-year-old crushed to death in brick kiln mishap in Kulgam
Kulgam, KNT: A one-year-old baby-boy from Chhattisgarh lost his life in an accident after being hit by a JCB machine at a brick kiln in Baihama area of Qazigund in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Officials said the incident occurred at the 151 brick kiln when the child, identified as Narender Kumar, son of Ramanand Sagar, was playing near the work site. The JCB was engaged in clay work when it accidentally struck the toddler, causing fatal injuries.
Witnesses said the mishap caused panic among workers at the site, with the child being rushed for medical attention, but he was declared dead on arrival.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident, registered a case, and started investigations to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident. [KNT]
