During his visit, Sh. Gupta inspected the severely damaged protection band at H. No. 1004 – Gypsy House, Jawahar Nagar, Talab Tillo, the residence of senior journalist King C. Bharati. The Band, which safeguards the locality from heavy floodwaters of the Nallah, has suffered extensive damage and is at risk of collapsing in the event of another flood, thereby endangering the entire mohalla.

It may be recalled that Jawahar Nagar Nallah witnessed an unprecedented flood situation, with water rising nearly three feet above the Band level and entering the homes of local residents. King C. Bharati’s residence was among the first to be affected, suffering damages estimated at over ₹60,000. The loss included household items such as motor pumps, washing machines, carpets, and significant structural damage including the caving in of a room’s floor.

Expressing concern over the situation, Sh. Arvind Gupta assured Mr. Bharati and other residents that immediate repair and strengthening of the Band will be undertaken on priority. He added that Jawahar Nagar, which has faced neglect for the past two decades, will now be taken up for revival and refurbishment to ensure the safety of its residents.

During the visit, Sh. Gupta also interacted with mohalla residents, visited several homes, and assured them of all possible support from the party and administration in mitigating the damage and restoring normalcy.
