Army Fires After Detecting Suspicious Movement Along LoC in Balakote Sector

Poonch, KNT : The Army on late Sunday night claimed to have observed suspicious movement near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Balakote sector of Poonch district.

According to official sources, troops of 22 JAK Rifles noticed the movement in the Dabbi area, ahead of the fence, and opened fire with Light Machine Gun (LMG) and Automatic Grenade Launcher (AGL), discharging 10 to 12 rounds.

The area falls under the jurisdiction of Police Post Balakote and Police Station Mendhar. [KNT]
