Teenage boy killed in lightning strike in Anantnag

Anantnag,  KNT : A teenage boy lost his life after being struck by lightning in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday.

Officials identified the deceased as 16-year-old Dilawar Ahmad Bhokad, son of Muhammad Sardar Bhokad, a resident of Soin Wangam, Kokernag. He was struck by lightning at Nawkhan near Margan Top and died on the spot, they said.

Meanwhile, people living in hilly and open areas have been advised to take precautionary measures during thunderstorms to avoid such tragedies. [KNT]
