Railway Ministry proposes new Vande Bharat Express train from Ferozepur Cantonment in Punjab to Delhi

The Railway Ministry has proposed a new Vande Bharat Express train from Ferozepur Cantonment in Punjab to Delhi. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that currently, five pairs of Vande Bharat trains are running in Punjab, covering seven districts of the state.

He highlighted that in the last eleven years, the Railway budget for Punjab has been increased 24 times. The Minister informed that the new Rail line, Rajpura – Mohali, worth 443 crore rupees, has been approved by the government. He said that the direct connection between Rajpura and Mohali will reduce the travel distance by 66 kilometres. Mr Vaishnaw added that it will boost industries such as textile manufacturing and agriculture.
