Wahid Parra Raises Key Development Projects During CM Review Meeting

Pulwama,  KNT: During the Chief Minister’s review meeting of district Pulwama, MLA Pulwama, Wahid Parra, raised several key developmental concerns, emphasizing the need for fast-tracking major infrastructure projects crucial to the district’s connectivity and economic growth.

Among the key issues highlighted by the legislator was the expedited land acquisition for the Ring Road project, particularly the Gudoora to Gangoo stretch spanning 4 kilometres. Wahid stressed that delays in land acquisition have been hampering progress on this vital route, which is expected to ease traffic congestion and improve regional accessibility.

The MLA also pressed for the granting of National Highway (NH) status to NH-444, a critical roadway linking Pulwama with other parts of south Kashmir. He proposed that the road be brought under the Central Road Fund (CRF) or the Special Assistance Programme to ensure adequate funding and timely upgradation.

Wahid said that improving Pulwama’s transport and connectivity infrastructure remains central to unlocking its economic potential. He urged the administration to maintain consistent monitoring of these projects to ensure completion within set timelines.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who chaired the review meeting, assured that the government remains committed to accelerating ongoing works and addressing bottlenecks in land acquisition and project execution across south Kashmir.

The meeting also covered discussions on road safety, flood protection, power supply, and urban sanitation measures. The administration is expected to issue a progress report on the identified projects in the coming weeks. [KNT]
