IMD Issues Orange Alert for Dense Fog in Several States

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange warning for dense to very dense fog over Delhi, Chandigarh, East Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Punjab till tomorrow. The Met department has forecast dense fog over parts of Gangetic West Bengal, North-East India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Jharkhand during the next two days.

Similar conditions are likely to prevail over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand till the 9th of this month. The weather agency has also predicted cold wave conditions over Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Jharkhand and Rajasthan during the next three days. IMD has forecast cold day conditions over Bihar and Uttarakhand for today.

Meanwhile, the air quality in Delhi-NCR continues to be in the poor category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the average Air Quality Index (AQI) of the National Capital was recorded at 266 as of 7 AM today.
