Three injured including firefighter as blaze hits Nowhatta in old Srinagar, Three houses damaged
Srinagar, KNT: A fire broke out in the Pandan area of Nowhatta in the old city of Srinagar on Thursday, damaging the upper portions of three residential houses, officials said.
Officials said the affected houses are three storied structures and the fire caused damage to their upper floors before it was brought under control. Fire and Emergency Services personnel from Rainawari Fire Station rushed to the spot soon after receiving the alert and launched firefighting operations.
During the operation, three persons sustained minor injuries, including a firefighter from the Rainawari Fire Station. The injured were provided immediate medical assistance and their condition is stated to be stable.
Firefighters managed to contain the blaze after sustained efforts, preventing it from spreading further to nearby houses in the densely populated locality. No loss of life was reported in the incident.
Officials said the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, while an assessment of the damage is being carried out by the concerned authorities. [KNT]
