Kulgam truck driver killed in fog related accident in Gwalior
Gwalior, KNT: A truck driver from south Kashmir’s Kulgam was killed while two others sustained injuries after their truck rammed into a road divider in Gwalior, officials said on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Suhail Ahmad Wani, son of Bashir Ahmad Wani, a resident of Oriel Kund in Kulgam. The fatal accident occurred while the truck JK22C-9979 was passing through Madhya Pradesh, where dense fog severely reduced visibility on the highway.
Officials said the truck lost control and struck the divider, resulting in serious injuries to the driver and two others travelling in the truck. Suhail Ahmad Wani succumbed to his injuries on the spot, while the injured persons were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. One of the injured has been identified as Saleem Ahmad Wani, son of Nisar Ahmad Wani, resident of Kraloo Kund village and another injured is reportedly from Shopian.
Preliminary information suggests that poor visibility due to thick fog was a major factor behind the accident. Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated necessary legal formalities.[KNT]
