Mock drill conducted in Anantnag town to strengthen public safety preparedness

Anantnag, KNT: Anantnag Police on Friday conducted a comprehensive mock drill in the main town area of Anantnag as part of precautionary measures aimed at enhancing public safety and emergency preparedness.

Officials said the exercise was carried out to assess the readiness of police personnel to respond swiftly and effectively to any untoward situation. The drill focused on coordinated response, crowd management, movement control and adherence to standard operating procedures during emergency scenarios.

During the exercise, police teams simulated various situations to evaluate communication, response time and operational coordination among different units. Officials said such drills are essential to identify gaps, improve preparedness and ensure a robust response mechanism for safeguarding the general public.

Authorities said the mock drill was conducted in a controlled manner and no inconvenience was caused to the public. Locals were informed in advance to avoid panic and ensure smooth conduct of the exercise.
