Wrongly parked vehicles challaned to ease congestion in North Kashmir’s Kupwara
Kupwara, KNT: The Traffic Wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday conducted a special enforcement drive at the Main Market in Kupwara to ensure smooth traffic flow and curb violations, officials said.
During the drive, traffic personnel found several vehicles parked in wrong and unauthorised locations, leading to congestion on the busy market road and causing inconvenience to pedestrians and shoppers. Officials said such parking practices were obstructing free movement of traffic in the area.
The traffic police team challaned a number of vehicles found violating parking norms as part of the enforcement exercise. Officials said the drive was aimed at removing obstructions, easing traffic jams and restoring order in the crowded market area.
Traffic officials advised the public to park their vehicles only at designated parking places and strictly adhere to traffic rules to avoid penalties and contribute towards maintaining smooth vehicular movement in the town.
The Traffic Police said similar enforcement drives will continue in the future to ensure discipline on roads and provide a hassle-free environment for the general public. [KNT]
