Elderly Woman injured in gas leakage in Awantipora

Pulwama,  KNT: A woman sustained burn injuries after an alleged leakage of cooking gas at her residence in Awantipora and was shifted to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar on Wednesday for specialised treatment, officials said.

The injured woman was initially taken to the Primary Health Centre Awantipora, from where she was referred to Srinagar for advanced medical care due to multiple burn injuries.

Hospital sources identified the injured as 50- years-old, wife of Ghulam Rasool Bhat, a resident of Awantipora.

According to preliminary information, the woman suffered burn injuries following a suspected leakage of cooking gas inside her house. The exact circumstances leading to the incident are being ascertained.

Medical officials at SMHS Hospital said the woman is currently stable and undergoing treatment. [KNT]
