Police intensify checking, patrols to ensure peaceful Republic Day
Srinagar, KNT: In view of the forthcoming Republic Day celebrations, Srinagar Police has intensified security and checking measures across the city to ensure a peaceful, safe and incident-free observance of the national event.
Officials said police personnel have been deployed at strategic locations as part of an enhanced security grid. Special checkpoints and mobile patrols have been established at key points, where thorough checking of vehicles and individuals is being carried out. Night patrols and surprise inspections are also being conducted to maintain heightened vigilance and deter any attempt to disturb public order.
Additional deployments have been made in sensitive areas, with special emphasis on monitoring suspicious movements. Senior police officers are personally supervising the arrangements to ensure effective coordination and seamless implementation of the security plan on the ground.
Police have appealed to the general public to cooperate during checking and verification procedures and to promptly report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or the Police Control Room.
