Snowbound patient airlifted to GMC Doda

District Administration Kishtwar conducts life saving evacuation

Kishtwar, KNT: The District Administration Kishtwar airlifted an injured patient from the snowbound area of Kither Bunjwah area of Kishtwar to Government Medical College Doda, ensuring urgent medical care amid severe weather conditions.

Officials said the operation was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma and Tehsildar Bunjwah Tejinder Sharma after Mir Hussain sustained serious injuries following a fall from the rooftop of his three-storey house. Continuous snowfall and blocked routes had made road evacuation impossible.

Recognising the critical nature of the situation, the district administration mobilized resources on priority, coordinating with all concerned agencies to ensure a smooth and timely rescue operation. Mir Hussain was safely airlifted and shifted to GMC Doda for advanced medical treatment.

Locals hailed the efforts of the District Administration Kishtwar, Tehsildar Bunjwah, Indian Army 26 RR Company Patnazi, Incharge Police Post Jawalapur Abhishek Sharma, and the civil volunteers for their coordinated response. [KNT]
