Joint Security Review Held in Ganderbal to Assess Safety of Tourist Spots
Ganderbal, KNT: A joint security review meeting to assess safety arrangements at tourist destinations falling under Central Kashmir Range was held on Thursday at the Conference Hall of District Police Office Ganderbal.
The meeting was jointly chaired by DIG Central Kashmir Range Rajiv Omprakash Pande and Army Commander 3-Sector Hemant Singh Panwar. Senior officers including DIG CRPF Sudhir Kumar, SSP Srinagar Dr G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal, SP Cargo Srinagar Tanveer Ahmad, and officials from the Army, intelligence agencies and Central Armed Police Forces were present.
Officials held detailed deliberations on the prevailing security scenario with special emphasis on safeguarding prominent tourist destinations, particularly in view of inclement weather conditions. Measures aimed at strengthening security arrangements and building confidence among visiting tourists were reviewed.
The meeting also assessed preparedness for Republic Day 2026 celebrations. Directions were issued to further reinforce the security grid, enhance inter-agency coordination and ensure effective deployment of forces at sensitive locations.
Chairing officers stressed the need for heightened alertness, proactive intelligence sharing and coordinated response mechanisms to address emerging challenges and maintain public order.
Authorities urged the public to cooperate with security agencies and promptly report any suspicious activity that may disturb peace and tranquillity. [KNT]
