GDP Data Release Date Fixed On 7th Of June Every Year

The Government has revised the release date of the Provisional Estimates  of Annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and Quarterly Estimates of GDP for Fourth Quarter from last working day of May to 7th June of every year. The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation said that the provisional estimates will be released on the previous working day if 7th June is a holiday.

The revision in the release schedule has been made after due consultation with the Advisory Committee on National Accounts Statistics. The Ministry said that the revision is aimed at further strengthening the data quality. It added that the revision forms part of the continued efforts of the Ministry towards improving the quality, coverage and robustness of data used in national accounts compilation.
