IMD Issues Orange Alert For Heat Wave Conditions In Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh And Punjab
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heat wave conditions today in parts of Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Punjab. Parts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Telangana are also likely to witness severe heat wave conditions during the day. IMD said hot and humid weather will persist today over Gangetic West Bengal. Tonight, East Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha are likely to experience a warm night.
The Weather Agency also forecast heavy rainfall today in parts of North-east India, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Lightning and thunderstorms are also expected today in places over Jammu and Kashmir, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam, Meghalaya, Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Lakshadweep.
