Hailstorm Hits Shopian, Kupwara as Unpredictable Weather Pattern Persists
Srinagar, KNT: Fresh hailstorm struck several areas of Shopian and Kupwara districts on Saturday, underlining the continuing spell of unpredictable weather that has affected different parts of Kashmir in recent weeks.
The weather disturbance triggered concern among inhabitants and farming communities, particularly in districts dependent on horticulture and agriculture where sudden hail and rainfall often raise fears of crop and orchard damage.
Reports said multiple localities in Shopian and Kupwara experienced hail accompanied by changing weather conditions, with residents witnessing abrupt shifts from warmer conditions to stormy skies.
The latest weather event forms part of an erratic pattern witnessed across Kashmir, where intermittent rain, gusty winds and hailstorms have repeatedly disrupted normal weather conditions.
While the extent of damage, if any, was not immediately known, locals said the sudden hailstorm caused concern among orchardists and farmers.
