Four Seriously Injured as Dumper Plunges 80 Feet Into Gorge in Reasi

Reasi, KNT: Four persons, including a woman and a two-year-old child, sustained serious injuries after a dumper met with an accident at Sunchan Gali in Dharmari area of Reasi district.

The accident occurred when a dumper bearing registration number JK20B-3991 was travelling from Arnas towards Mahore. Reports said the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to plunge nearly 70 to 80 feet off the road.

The crash left all four occupants seriously injured, triggering a rescue operation by local residents and police.

Locals, assisted by personnel from Police Station Arnas, rushed to the accident site and shifted the injured to the Health Centre at Dharmari, where they were administered first aid before being referred to District Hospital Reasi for specialized treatment.

The injured have been identified as Mohd Yaseen, 32, son of Ghulam Hussain of Ganjot, the driver of the vehicle; Manzoor Ahmed, 36, son of Muhammad Akbar and a resident of Mahore; Rubina Begum, 30, wife of Manzoor Ahmed; and their two-year-old child.

The condition of the injured was reported to be serious.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident. [KNT]
