Tractor Falls Into Canal, 23-Year-Old Driver Dies in Bandipora

Bandipora,  KNT: A 23-year-old youth was killed after the tractor he was driving plunged into an irrigation canal in Watrina village of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday, turning a routine drive into a tragedy.

The victim, Yasir Ahmad Dar of Watrina, was pulled out of the canal by local residents and rescuers soon after the accident and rushed to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The accident occurred after the tractor veered off the road and fell into the canal. The circumstances leading to the mishap are being investigated.

Police have registered a case and initiated proceedings to ascertain the exact cause of the accident. [KNT]
