Skill India Mission Completes 11 Years Today

The 11th Anniversary of the Skill India Mission is being observed today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched this mission in 2015, with the aim of equipping youth with industry-relevant skills for employment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihoods.

Skill India is an initiative of the central government to empower the youth with skill sets, making them more employable. It has empowered millions of youth with industry-relevant skills, creating opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship and nation-building.
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has empowered more than six crore young people through its various schemes to build a brighter future for the country. Over one crore youth are getting trained every year under the Skill India Mission. Under the Pradhanmantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, more than one crore 65 lakh youth have been trained. As India moves towards Viksit Bharat 2047, investing in skills remains key to unlocking every citizen’s potential and driving inclusive, sustainable growth.
