Landslide Blocks Thanamandi–Rajouri Road at Fatehpur
Rajouri, KNT: Vehicular traffic on the Thanamandi–Rajouri road was disrupted on Wednesday after a landslide struck the Fatehpur area, blocking the road and leaving scores of commuters stranded on both sides.
The landslide, triggered amid continuing rainfall in the region, deposited mud and debris across the roadway, rendering it impassable for vehicles.
With traffic brought to a standstill, passengers remained stranded as authorities assessed the situation and prepared to clear the affected stretch.
Officials are expected to deploy men and machinery to remove the debris and restore traffic as soon as weather conditions permit.
Motorists have been advised to avoid the route until the road is cleared and declared safe for vehicular movement. [KNT]
