Coal Production Registers 9.61% Year-On-Year Growth In July

Coal production from Captive and Commercial mines stood at 14.78 million tonnes (MT) in the month of July, while coal dispatches reached 17.49 MT. Ministry of Coal informed that coal production registered a 9.61 percent year-on-year growth compared to July last year.

The Ministry noted that the performance highlights continued improvements in operational efficiency, enhanced mining productivity, and more effective utilization of mining capacities across the Captive and Commercial coal mining sector. It added that the sustained rise in production from Captive and Commercial mines is expected to reduce dependence on imported coal, strengthen supply chain resilience, conserve valuable foreign exchange, and advance the Government’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
