IMD Forecasts Extremely Heavy Rainfall In Odisha And Gangetic West Bengal Today
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red colour warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy rainfall over Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha today following the formation of a low-pressure area over the North Bay of Bengal.
According to IMD, places over Chhattisgarh are expected to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall till tomorrow. Heavy rainfall is expected to prevail over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, East Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Madhya Maharashtra and West Madhya Pradesh today.
Similar conditions will prevail over Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Goa, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Vidarbha and the northeastern states for the day. Further, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Andaman and Nicobar Islands are expected to witness thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds during the next two days.
