Ministry Of Textiles To Organise ‘Srijan: Voices From The Loom’ To Celebrate Women Weavers

The Ministry of Textiles will organise ‘Srijan: Voices from the Loom’, a special gathering celebrating the women behind India’s handlooms and recognising their inspiring journeys, voices and contributions to the weaving heritage of the country. The programme will be held in New Delhi today.

Secretary of the Ministry of Textiles Neelam Shami Rao will attend the programme. The Ministry said that during the session, over hundred women weavers from 6 handloom clusters will share their stories of Resilience, Creativity and Role in preserving India’s Weaving Traditions. An anthology featuring the inspiring stories, journeys and voices of these women weavers will also be released on the occasion.
