No Shortage Of Sugar In Punjab, Govt Keeping Vigil On Stock, Says CM Bhagwant Mann

Punjab Government has said that there is no shortage of sugar in the state and authorities are keeping a regular vigil on its stock, sale and supply to safeguard the interests of the common people.

Chairing a meeting with senior officers yesterday on the issue of sugar scarcity, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that adequate availability of the essential commodity is available and action will be taken against those who attempt to create artificial scarcity or indulge in hoarding.
He said that sugarcane production had declined across the country, including in Punjab, due to inclement weather conditions during 2025-26. However, despite lower yield, the state has sufficient sugar stocks and there is no alarming situation.
