Delhi Intensifies Food Safety Checks Ahead Of Festive Season

Delhi Government has intensified enforcement drives across the major food markets in the national capital ahead the festive season. Delhi Health Minister Dr Pankaj Kumar Singh said that as part of the enforcement drive over two thousand 300 kilogram of unclaimed Khoya, Dhaap and Butter were confiscated and destroyed at the MCD dumping site at Majnu ka Tila as per the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006.

The Minister said that the food articles were foul-smelling and deteriorating and were found abandoned under highly unhygienic conditions. Mr Singh has directed the food safety departments to continue intensive inspections and maintain strict vigilance throughout the festive season.
